I was misdiagnosed and mislabeled in 1995 with Bipolar II Disorder (which was actually rediagnosed in 2013 as Generalized Anxiety Disorder). The anxiety caused by the high stress in my life manifested itself as mood swings. I was incorrectly prescribed Lithium and remained on it for 17 years. The long-term use of Lithium caused a rare condition called Diabetes Insipidus, whereby my kidney function became compromised.
Dr. Young prescribed a treatment plan to address Lithium Detoxification and my Anxiety Disorder. Based on her vast knowledge, experience and education, she guided, advised, treated and respected me as a person, not just a patient.
Dr. Young gave me hope and encouragement throughout my road back to health and healing. With her help through Naturopathic Medicine, I learned to trust my own intuition again and be “My Own Best Doctor”. I now deal with stress and anxiety in a more healthy way with the tools and supplements I’ve been given.
