Detoxification and Weight Loss

Mrs.  Johnson is 48 years old, peri-menopausal and has been fighting her weight for her whole life.

“Every time I try to lose weight I feel sick. I am eating better, I try to exercise, and everyone says that I should be feeling BETTER.”

So why does she feel worse?

Mrs.  Johnson’s story is one I have heard many times.  So what could possibly be making her feel ill?  She has tried eating mostly vegetables, she has tried eating mostly protein, in fact she has tried every dieting recommendation she has ever heard.  She has discipline but can’t get through a day without feeling terrible.

The answer is body composition.  Each time Mrs. Johnson goes on a diet she begins to break down and metabolize fat cells.  Fat cells are storage cells.  They store the energy that does not get used up during the day.  They also store toxins that the liver and kidneys are not able to flush out.  As Mrs. Johnson loses fat these toxins are released.

So here is the rub.  Mrs. Johnson needs more support.  She not only needs to think about diet and exercise but she also needs to support her liver and kidneys in the detoxification process.  This may be as simple as drinking more water or may be more complicated depending on whether or not she is taking medications or has other health issues.

Naturopathic doctors, have more training in supporting healthy detoxification processes than any other healthcare practitioner.  The doctors at Revolutions Natural Medical Solutions can determine whether a combination of liver support herbs, chelation, or toxin binding agents etc. would be appropriate for your weight loss needs.  It is always recommended to work under the supervision of a doctor when your goal is to lose large amounts of weight while taking any medications.
