I’ve had a busy start to 2015 with conferences and speaking engagements. In January I flew to Portland, Oregon to attend the Institute of Women’s Health and Integrative Medicine’s Integrative Pediatrics update. It was wonderful to get the latest updates on infant development, anxiety and depression, vaccinations, omega-3 fatty acids, methylation, and to discuss the latest research with my colleagues. I’m excited to be able to share these updates with my patients.
In February, I had the honor of speaking at Folsom Medical Pharmacy’s seminar on Women, Hormones, and Nutrition. There was a great turnout with lots of engaging questions from the audience. I’m always a bit nervous about public speaking, but interacting with the audience makes it worthwhile. At the seminar I discussed the importance of balancing cortisol and thyroid hormone in addition to progesterone, estrogen, and testosterone. Cortisol is the one hormone that I see neglected the most by other healthcare providers and it really does make such a difference in women’s energy, weight loss, and helping to reduce symptoms that are sometimes erroneously attributed to estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone imbalances.
This last weekend, I returned to Portland, Oregon for a weekend review of Advanced IV Therapeutics. Phew, it’s been quite a way to kick off 2015!
If you have any questions about the topics above, let’s discuss the latest research at your next appointment.
