You are what you eat!

Eating right might not be the easiest thing for everyone to do. The majority of the population within the United States was raised on a diet high in saturated fats, salt and refined sugar, and low in fiber, good sources of protein, essential oils, and nutrients/ minerals. People have developed a taste for sweeter/ richer foods, and find healthier options not as appealing. This aversion to healthy choices is usually the reason why most fail at modifying their diet. People need to keep in mind that it takes time to “reset” your taste buds. At first, eating healthy might be a chore, but as your body adjust and clears out (ie – liver and colon) remnants of years of wasteful eating, you will realize how much better you feel. Your energy and mood will increase and you will most likely see improvement in your skin and hair. But, the best thing is that your body will be functioning better, since you have now given it the proper source of nutrients instead of processed “junk.”

If you are considering revamping your diet/ lifestyle, and are married with or without kids, more than likely others in your family need to revamp their diet as well. Think of what years of poor eating can lead to, and who would want their children to face those challenges. With the epidemic of childhood obesity in the United States, it is no wonder why we are seeing a younger onset of type II diabetes, coronary artery disease, and hypertension. The old cliché of “you are what you eat” proves to be true for both adults and children.
