Too sick to exercise

Often times I hear patients complain that deterioration in their health began with an injury or illness that prevents them from exercising.  They gain weight from lack of activity and then find it difficult to begin exercising again.  Or they try to do the same things they used to do for exercise and just become frustrated that their level of skill has diminished.

Being overweight by itself can be a hurdle that makes it difficult to exercise.  Whether you feel self conscious about being seen in gym clothes by all of the super fit gym rats, or you don’t want to be viewed as fanatical about your weight, you have a right to exercise.

Some patients of mine have been so overwhelmed by options that they can’t put together an effective routine that they enjoy.  There are so many ways to exercise and so many studies on what’s right and wrong that the information overload can be a road block as well.  And forget about the millions of diet options (feel like you’ve tried them all?).

Some people have become comfortable with being overweight and have a positive self image which is WONDERFUL!  But they are limited and can’t do some of the activities they enjoy for various reasons.

Whatever your difficulty, you will find that we are not doctors who say “lose some weight”  and send you out the door feeling humiliated and lost.  We will help you figure out the best way for you to eat and exercise to give you results.  We will be right there with you every step of the way.  We will tailor make your wellness plan to meet goals that will make you feel better and live longer.
