Amino Acid Therapy

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and enzymes, such as those used in hair, nails and muscles, as well as proteins essential to immune system function and blood sugar regulation. Studies have demonstrated abnormal levels of amino acids in patients suffering from chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety and ADD/ADHD etc.

Amino acids can help balance neurotransmitters (brain chemicals). Neurotransmitter imbalances have been linked to a variety of diseases including depression, ADHD, anxiety, memory loss, weight gain, insomnia, and addictive disorders. Amino acids are typically obtained through diet. However, in the presence of disease it may be difficult for the body to absorb and maintain proper amino acid levels. Therefore administering amino acid precursors in a concentrated form administered intravenously may be required to achieve effective circulating levels.
